A Damaged Rim Is Rarely Just the Rim
A hit hard enough to mark or bend a wheel can reach everything behind it. As a collision repair shop, we look past the wheel:
- The tire. Cuts, bulges or a bead that won't seal. We balance it and replace it if needed.
- The alignment. Pulling to one side or a crooked steering wheel. We do 4-wheel alignments.
- The suspension. Tie rods, ball joints, struts and control arms can bend in the same hit. See suspension repair.
- The bodywork. Bumper, fender and wheel well damage, fixed in the same shop with our collision repair.

Most rim damage can be repaired. Some can't, and your safety comes before saving a wheel. Here's how it usually breaks down.

Can curb rash be repaired, or do I need a new rim?
In most cases curb rash can be repaired. We repair the scrapes and gouges on the lip and refinish the wheel to match, so you don't have to buy a new rim. If the damage goes deeper than the surface, like a crack, we'll tell you and recommend a replacement instead.
Can you fix a bent rim?
Many bent rims can be repaired. We inspect the wheel first. If the bend can be safely corrected, we repair it. If the wheel is cracked or bent too far to run true, replacement is the safe call, and we'll tell you that straight.
Is it safe to drive on a bent or cracked rim?
We don't recommend it. A bent or cracked rim can leak air, cause vibration and wear out the tire, and a crack can get worse. If the car shakes or a tire keeps losing air, call (832) 883-8120. Can't drive it? Request a tow on the form, 24/7.
Will my insurance pay for rim repair?
If the wheel was damaged in a collision, it can go on your claim with the rest of the collision damage. We work directly with your insurance company and pay your deductible. Whether a curb scrape on its own is covered depends on your policy. If it isn't, the estimate is still free and financing is available.
Can you match my wheels' color, or change it?
Yes. We refinish the repaired wheel to match the others, or change the color if you want a new look. Gloss, matte, satin and custom finishes are available.
Do you check the tire, alignment and suspension too?
Yes. A hit hard enough to bend a rim can also damage the tire, knock the alignment out and bend suspension parts. We check all of it while the car is here, and we do 4-wheel alignments, suspension repair, tire balancing and tires in the same shop.
How much does rim repair cost?
